To Mask Or Not To Mask, That Is The Question?

(Disclaimer: I always agree that anyone who is at higher risk, the elderly, and others with compromised immune systems, take special precautions during cold and flu seasons. Additionally, nothing in this post is intended to portray that the KungFlu isn’t serious — it’s just not panning out to be at those black-death levels originally prognosticated.)

What’s the thing with requiring everyone to wear face masks?
Vanity of vanities, nothing is new under the sun, or so they say. The science and efficacy of face masks hasn’t changed much, especially for consumer-grade masks, and definitely not with the home-made cloth variety. Indeed a whole cottage industry has sprung up focusing on home crafters making masks for their friends, family, and even resale. But, the questions remain, are they necessary, or are these consumer-grade or homemade masks even effective?

Each and every year, between 30,000 and 60,000 Americans die from complications arising from the seasonal flu, and more deaths occur from the common cold and pneumonia. So, what gives? Have you noticed that the whole narrative regarding this COVID epidemic, and even about wearing face masks keeps morphing?

The first reports were that the virus wasn’t being transmitted between people. Next, they ramped up the fear-factor, claiming that they expected two million deaths in the USA alone. Now the prognostication is a mere tenth of those numbers. Don’t get me wrong, every single death is a tragedy for those involved. But, the numbers we’re seeing reported simply don’t jive. When the KungFlu death toll was being reported at around 60,000, the total number of deaths reported from all causes, was still lower than expected for that reporting period — even factoring in deaths from the ChinaVirus.

A similarly changing storyline is evident when it comes to recommendations regarding wearing face masks. Early on the recommendations followed along traditional lines. The powers to be simply followed historic, best practice recommendations, such as we’ve been taught in the past.

Back in the early 2000s – during the H1N1 pandemic, I was the director of food and nutrition services for a regional hospital. At that time, we received specific training on the efficacy of all sorts of PPE. I was already aware that all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) were designed for particular usages, and that all PPE were not created equal. Why is it that during that timeframe, that everyone was not required to mask-up? The reason is that with few exceptions, face Wearing masks everywhere you go will not prevent you from contracting a virus. Additionally, homemade cloth masks and most of the cloth masks sold in your local store have very little protection value from virus-sized particles.

Using Cloth Masks to Control the Spread of a Virus

A historical overview of cloth masks notes their use in US healthcare settings starting in the late 1800s, first as source control on patients and nurses and later as PPE by nurses:
A researcher named Kellogg WH, back in 1920, seeking a reason for the failure of cloth masks required for the public in stopping the 1918 influenza pandemic found that “the number of cloth layers needed to achieve acceptable efficiency made them difficult to breathe through and caused leakage around the mask. We found no well-designed studies of cloth masks as source control in household or healthcare settings.”

Kellogg concluded, “In sum, given the paucity of information about their performance as source control in real-world settings, along with the extremely low efficiency of cloth masks as filters and their poor fit, there is no evidence to support their use by the public or healthcare workers to control the emission of particles from the wearer.”

Little has changed over the past 120 years unless you’re using professional-grade PPE. Homemade masks or even most masks commercially available in your local drug stores are not designed to protect wearers from virus-sized particulates.
+++++

Even though nothing has changed regarding how viruses spread, and the transmission rates and even death rates are proving to be lower than expected, the CDC and the FakeNews Media are now recommending that everyone wear masks, even homemade masks while in public.

Doctors, scientists, and even those radically progressive Governors understand all the ineffectiveness of these masks. Considering the FACT that the poor design, fit, and inefficient filtration of these masks are virtually useless, why are so many of us being mandated to wear them? It’s simply because they can. It’s akin to the rationale for locking folks inside their home and threatening to lock us up if we dare to sit or lay down at the beach. Speaking about locking people up, there is currently a bill in the House of Representatives that, if passed, would allow the government to enter your homes, test you for the virus, and even lock you or your family members up, all with no due process.

The American people are being systematically conditioned to accept strict, controls over their lives, which will lead to an even more strict, totalitarian grip on our society. For the likes of California Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Gavin Newsom, this is about control, not public health and safety. It is a documented fact that illegal immigrants have been a health and safety problem for decades. Not only are many of them (documented proof, not speculation) responsible for violent crimes, but crossing our borders unscreened are many with communicable diseases that were once nearly eradicated in the USA. Combine this with the fact that these Radical politicians are using this pandemic as a screen to actively release even violent criminals into our communities, you can begin to see their subterfuge and deception. Like Governor Newsom blatantly stated, this pandemic is an “opportunity to advance our Progressive agenda.” Speaker Pelosi and her cadre of radicalized Democrats, continue to pack their PLANdemic relief packages with line items to release prisoners and force We The People to go deeper into debt paying to support Illegal Immigrants with paychecks, healthcare, housing, and more. The Socialists in the Democrat party also want to lower the national voting age to sixteen, so that these new, undereducated, and immature voters can vote themselves an allowance.

NoTrumpNoPeace has been saying for two months now, that the numbers just don’t add up. The state of Colorado recently revised its number of COVID deaths down. Last month we reported that the CDC  had published a chart showing that the number of deaths actually attributed to COVID-19 was only about one-fourth of the numbers being reported. The numbers that are being reported by government officials and the FakeNews media continue to be inflated, being mingled with a multitude of comorbidity factors, including the seasonal flu, pneumonia, and other diseases. No, it’s not really about wearing face masks.

Democrats have a long history of bigotry and racism. In doing some research on President Johnson’s often quoted but “unconfirmed” statement: “I’ll Have Those Niggers Voting Democratic for 200 Years,” I learned that there’s no question that Lyndon Johnson was a “notorious racist and vulgarian,” despite his signing the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964.

According to historic sources, LBJ “rarely shied away from using the N-word in private.” For example, he reportedly referred to the Civil Rights Act of 1957 as the “nigger bill” in more than one private phone conversation with Senate colleagues. And he reportedly said upon appointing African-American judge Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court, “Son, when I appoint a nigger to the court, I want everyone to know he’s a nigger.”

Open Response to Prescott College President John Flicker:

Deat Mr. Flicker,

A college or university should be encouraging critical thinking and the exchange of ideas, not resorting to animus and name calling against those disagreeing with your ideology. Having a negative opinion regarding a person or an organization is NOT racist. The term racism is so overused in our day that it has been rendered virtually meaningless.

According to their own website, the organization known as “Black Lives Matter” has more to do with Marxist revolutionary ideologies than simply being concerned about Black Lives.

Using the RACE card yourself and supporting BLM is highly indicative of your own partisan agenda.

The following statement is from Prescott College President John Flicker:

"We are dismayed to see the ugly racist messages circulating on social media in our community about Patrisse Cullors, a member of our faculty at Prescott College. Patrisse is a professional artist and educator living in Los Angeles who is the Faculty Director of our online Master of Fine Arts program. Her inspiring work is recognized across the globe and we are honored that she is a part of the Prescott Community. She is also a co-founder of Black Lives Matter.

We strongly support Patrisse’s academic freedom as a member of our faculty and her right of free speech as a citizen. We also strongly support the efforts of Black Lives Matter to achieve a more just society for all Americans.

These racist messages are unacceptable and do not represent the values of our community, and we are grateful for the growing number of messages we are receiving supporting Patrisse and her work. If you support Patrisse and her work join the cause and continue to speak out against racism."

AMPAT Media and #NoTrumpNoPeace is a group of PATRIOTS dedicated to being  outspoken voices for conservative values. Our primary mission is to combat the swamp-monsters,  lies and misinformation of our day.

Some of us choose to remain anonymous. Our concern for anonymity is due to calls for violence by radical members of the government and activist groups such as ANTIFA. No, we don’t fear for our own safety, but don’t wish for our loved ones and folks we care about to be put in harm’s way because of our outspoken political opinions.

The Hashtag #NoTrumpNoPeace is not a call for militancy, but rather, a blunt recognition of our current political atmosphere, where freedom of speech and the exchange of ideas are routinely attacked in the public forum.
